In today’s reading from the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, we begin Chapter I “General Principles for the Restoration and Promotion of the Sacred Liturgy.” This chapter is further divided into three sections, the first of which we begin today on “The Nature of the Sacred Liturgy and Its Importance in the Church’s Life.”
Today’s reading lays the theological foundation, beginning of course with the fulfillment of God’s saving plan in the Paschal Mystery of Christ (article 5) and how Jesus sent the apostles to continue his mission from which time “the Church has never failed to come together to celebrate the paschal mystery” (artilce 6).
