Today we begin Chapter III in the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy on the other sacraments and sacramentals.
Article 59, by way of introduction, encourages increased understanding and frequent reception of these “sacraments of faith.” And sacramentals dispose us to receive the graces of the sacraments (article 60).
The sacraments and sacramentals draw their power from the paschal mystery and “sanctifies almost every event in their lives” (article 61).
Article 62 speaks of the need to revise and adapt certain parts of the rites in order to correct confusions that have crept in. This will be elaborated on more in tomorrow’s reading.
