Day #96: Sacrosanctum Concilium 117-121

Today we conclude the chapter on Sacred Music in the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy.

Today’s passage calls for a new edition of the books on Gregorian chant (article 117).  It also encourages promoting singing among the people (article 118) and utilizing the musical tradition native to certain missionary areas (articles 119).

The pipe organ is lifted up asa particularly worthy instrument, but bishops may give permission for othwer instruments to be used (asrticle 120).  And we finish off the chapter with an encouragement of composers (article 121)
