Day #244: Presbyterorum Ordinis 17

In today’s reading from the Decree on the Ministry and Life of Priests, we finishe section 2 of Chapter III on “Special Spiritual Requirements in the Life of a Priest.”

We already looked at the evangelical counsel of obedience (article 15) and chastity (article 16).  In article 17, we turn our attention to poverty.  More than just an absence of possessions, poverty entails thanking God for the created world and used His created gifts for their designated purpose.
