Today in the Decree Concerning the Pastoral Office of Bishops in the Church, we continue reading the third section of Chapter II on “Assistants in the Pastoral Office of the Diocesan Bishops.”
The passage we read today finishes up this part on diocesan clergy. These articles look at the practical aspect of the bishop’s work with his priests. Article 31 speaks of the movement of pastors while article 32 speaks of the suppression or erection of parishes. The Council Fathers emphasize that the guiding principal for both is the good of the souls of those in the parish.
