Today we finish our reading from the Decree on the Adaptation and Renewal of Religious Life.

In article 24, we see the Council Fathers remind priests, educators, parents, and religious that they all have a duty to foster vocations for the religious life.

Article 25 concludes the document with some words of encouragement and prayer from the Council Fathers.

Day #302: Perfectae Caritatis 20-23

We continue on in our reading of the Decree on the Adaptation and Renewal of Religious Life.

As the document winds down, the Council Fathers continue to tackle a variety of aspects of religious life.  In today’s reading, we see the document address the ministries that religious communities take on (article 20).  We also have a few words about religious communities that are not flourishing (article 21).  Finally, we see the encouragement of federations of religious communities (article 22) and conferences or councils or religious (article 23).

The Council Fathers continue to address a variety of issues that are part of religious life.  Today, we look at religious habits (article 17), the education and training of religious (article 18), and the establishment of new religious orders (article 19).
